What up! I go by D.Cure, and I am an Air Force veteran turned hip-hop artist. I use my music as a way to share my faith and to help others who may be struggling. I celebrated 8 years of sobriety in February of 2023, and I often talk about my journey (and struggle) to get sober and how God saved me from myself all those years ago. I am married to my wife, Erin, of 6 years, and we spend most of our free time with our fur-kids: a cat named Penny and a dog named Peeve. Some of my favorite things to do when I'm not writing and creating are re-watching The Office and puzzling with Erin. I'm currently working on a project I'm calling "Albuphet" (aka the Album Alphabet project) where I create an album for every letter of the alphabet with each album title being 5-letters long. I've completed letters A-L so far. You can learn more about the project here.
ALBUM RELEASE: LOOPS
This album is all about the endless loops we can get stuck in as we go through life. I used to be stuck in a neverending loop. I used to go from work, to the bar, to an empty home, maybe to church, and I'd repeat that over and over again. Don't be like me.
ALBUM RELEASE: KNOWN
Introducing Known! This album is #11 of 26 from my Album Alphabet project, and it reveals all the ways God has been working in my life.
"O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head." -Psalm 139:1-5
I am so excited to share this project with you.
The album is hit #4 on the iTunes Christian charts! All glory to Him!
NEW MUSIC VIDEO OUT: "REGRET"
The official music video for "Regret" is live!
"Regret" is a song off of my last album, Janky, and it's about my choice to join the military at such a young age. That was a huge decision to make at only 18, and that choice influenced the course of my entire life. While I know joining the military made me who I am today, and I'm thankful for it, it is a choice I still reflect on to this day.
INTERVIEW WITH BLACK PEGASUS
Black Pegasus had me on his YouTube channel for an interview. We chatted all the things: my suicide attempt, when CeeLo Green hosted a contest and picked me as his winner, the promise of a record label (that never came to fruition), making a Billboard charting hit with TMR and Topher, getting censored, and more.
"ALBUPHET" BEHIND-THE-SCENES INTERVIEW SERIES
Over the past few weeks, Benny of the Semper Sometimes podcast and I have been chatting about my Album Alphabet project (or "Albuphet").
"Albuphet" was something I began in 2019. I decided I wanted to create an album for every letter of the alphabet with each album title being 5-letters long.
I’ve done albums A-J in just over 3 years, and my goal is to have the entire alphabet completed by the end of 2026 (when I turn 40 👴🏼). On Benny's show, we discuss each of the albums and the story behind each. Tune into the interview series get to the behind-the-scenes scoop.
ALBUM RELEASE: IDOLS
My new album (and final album of 2022!), Idols, dropped on Friday, December 9th. It's all about how we have a tendency to worship things of the world. These things, platforms, events, people, etc. take our focus off of the reason we are here. This album is a reminder of what is truly important in this life.
